How to Tie a Bow Tie
Step 1. Put the bow tie around your neck. Make sure that the left end (A) of the bow tie is 1.5” / 4cm lower than right end (B).
Step 2. Bring A across the front of B in a downward direction.
Step 3. Bring A around and behind B to form a loop.
Step 4. Bring A up and through the loop. Tighten. Make sure that the bow tie is not too tight around your neck!
Step 5. Bring B level with the knot. Fold to produce the bow shape.
Step 6. Bring A down and over B. The thin part of A should hang down the middle of B.
Step 7. Bring A around and behind B. At this point you may wish to hold this new knot between your thumb and forefinger so that it does not get too big / loose or too small / tight.
Step 8. Fold A so that it forms the bow shape.
Step 9. Bring A up and through the front of the new knot so that A’s bow sits on top of B’s bow. |
